Positivity!

The past few years at Schenkeveld have been all about growth. And that is not going to change for the time being. We have started building Schenkeveld Schiphol with greenhouse North and greenhouse East. Next year we will start building greenhouse South. A solid foundation is very important. Our strength lies in our employees. But have you ever wondered how we get good employees? When I look around me, I see a lot of potential in our employees. It doesn't matter where you come from, whether you work as a permanent employee as a temp or as a trainee. We do as much as possible to make no distinction here. With the necessary attention and motivation, great results often come about.

Working with temporary workers, ''that's often uncertain'' we often hear people say. ''One day they are there, the next day they are gone''. At Schenkeveld, we work hard to bind and retain employees to our organisation. We see more and more that temporary workers want to settle in the Netherlands and build a life here. That is sometimes quite difficult, especially when it comes to work. Together with the employment agency, Schenkeveld wants to offer temporary employees the opportunity to grow. This offers security and a future.

From temporary employee to Team Leader, that really is possible. We already have several employees who have progressed. To grow further, however, they have to comply with a number of basic rules. These rules ensure that you are independent and no longer dependent on an employment agency. These include; own transport, own accommodation and speaking the Dutch language. If you do not yet meet all the points, it is also possible to grow at the temping agency, which we call Phase C. This means that you are still working for the temping agency, but no longer switching employers. This offers security and opportunities to meet other points. At Schenkeveld we try to help temporary agency workers with this, for instance by offering them a Dutch language course.

Last week, two temporary workers once again became permanent employees for the employment agency based at Schenkeveld Schiphol, so they have progressed to phase C. With a little more help, they are working towards a bright future in the Netherlands.

Grigore, has been with us for three years. He is from Romania and fulfils the role of foreman with us. With his perseverance he has now been able to bring his family here and proudly sign his contract. He is progressing step by step in this process and is building a life in the Netherlands. We are very happy with him!

Rudolf was also allowed to sign his contract. He would like to advance to Jr. cultivation specialist. He is gaining a lot of knowledge about cultivation, which has given him a boost to think about the future. We like to see employees who make their passion, their job.

Even in times like these, it is important to also send positive messages into the world. We are proud of our employees. We therefore wish everyone lots of fun and success with us. Everything that gets attention grows!
