The above hourly wages are made up of the basic hourly wage and the attendance bonus. You can also earn a performance bonus with us, which is added to your hourly wage. Are you a real 🏅 tomato toking? Then you deserve this with ease!
Why work at Schenkeveld as a trainee?
During the summer holidays and on Saturday mornings, more than 300 schoolchildren and students work at Schenkeveld's various locations. It is fun because you work in teams with other schoolchildren or students. The work is easy and not heavy.
At Schenkeveld, you will earn well. The amount of your salary is linked to your age. This salary can be supplemented by bonuses. There are bonuses for performance and for attendance.
Through the MyWorq app, you can specify when you come to work. It is also possible to work on weekdays.
Omdat we met seizoensproducten werken, zijn er periodes waarin het drukker is en momenten waarop het wat rustiger is. Benieuwd hoe dat er door het jaar heen uitziet? Bekijk onze jaarkalender, zodat je vooraf een goed beeld hebt van wat je kunt verwachten. In de kalender kun je precies zien hoe druk een periode is: lichtrood betekent dat het rustig is en hoe donkerder rood, hoe drukker het is.
Work of schoolchildren
We start at 7 am in summer and 8 am in winter. We work from break to break. Scholars normally work until noon, but if you want to stay longer during the week or only work an afternoon, this is possible. Please discuss this with your team leader.
The work mainly involves cutting leaves and harvesting tomatoes. Both tasks are light and harmless. As you work with us for longer, the work will expand. We expect you to be there regularly on Saturdays and in the holidays four mornings a week.
Tomato Toking
Scholars who work more than 250 hours a year, register on time in the MyWorq app and know the rules at Schenkeveld become Tomato Toking. These are our toppers; they receive a nice gift every year. Schenkeveld has a great team of Tomatokings!

Stage bij Schenkeveld is meer dan alleen schoolwerk
Stagelopen hoort er bij veel opleidingen gewoon bij. Maar bij Schenkeveld maken we er graag iets van waar je écht iets aan hebt.
Bij ons leer je niet alleen uit boeken, maar vooral door het gewoon te doen. En laat dat nou precies iets zijn waar wij blij van worden: aanpakken, proberen, leren en groeien.
We bieden stageplekken voor opleidingen in de tuinbouw, maar staan ook open voor andere richtingen. Of je nu een meeloopstage zoekt, aan de slag gaat met je afstudeeropdracht of onderzoek wilt doen: bij ons krijg je de kans om nieuwe dingen te leren in een fijne en nuchtere werkomgeving.
En wie weet blijft het niet bij een stage. Veel collega’s bij Schenkeveld zijn ooit begonnen als student en hebben inmiddels een mooie carrière binnen ons bedrijf opgebouwd.
Wij vinden het onwijs leuk om de nieuwe generatie klaar te stomen voor een carrière in de tuinbouw. En eerlijk is eerlijk: wij leren net zo graag van jullie frisse ideeën.
