Only together

We read everywhere during this period that we are getting Corona under control "only together". And rightly so, because everyone has to do their bit here. But even though we are sitting at home alone more often, we also feel more togetherness. After all, we have a common goal: getting the Corona virus under control together. Working together towards this common goal creates a sense of togetherness. This gives us the motivation to keep going, even if it is sometimes not easy. If we then see that it works and the results are good, this gives us strength to continue.

Within Schenkeveld, we also work with common goals. And even these goals sometimes require sacrifices. These are often very small things, but essential to who we are and what we want to achieve. We have Passion for Perfection, which sounds very nice, but if you want to have a beer on a Friday afternoon and the shed hasn't been cleaned up yet, that can also be quite difficult. Fortunately, we know that that drink tastes even better after a top performance!

It can also be big things, such as a merger of two companies. Schenkeveld and De Kabel merged last year. We did this out of the conviction that we are stronger together. We want to play in the Champions League of tomato growing and that doesn't happen by itself. We all have to work hard for that. Cultivation and biology must be at top level, labour performance must be super sharp, energy costs under control and so on. Everything has to be right to keep playing at top level, that is the common goal. And we can "only do it together"!
