MISSION
Schenkeveld is the specialist in growing tomatoes. We produce tomatoes all year round for retailers in Europe who value reliability and security of supply. So we reliably supply perfect tomatoes of consistent quality all year round. We are an ambitious family company offering an inspiring and challenging working environment with room for own initiative and development. We give trust and look with an open mind.
We employ only quality-driven professionals who challenge each other. Taking personal responsibility and looking for the limits in order to continuously push them is standard for us. We are team-oriented, loyal & respectful to each other and actively work towards a Speak Out, Af and On culture.
Family business
Schenkeveld is a family business. Leo Schenkeveld started growing various crops in 1937, Jan and Peter Schenkeveld expanded this into a fully-fledged greenhouse horticultural business. In 2002, Schenkeveld stopped growing cucumbers and switched entirely to vine tomatoes. Schenkeveld became a member of Prominent.
Schenkeveld has expanded over the years to five locations in the Westland region and a complex of greenhouses in Rijsenhout.
Harting Holland
In 2025, Harting Holland and Schenkeveld joined forces. This has created a new combination in greenhouse vegetables under shared ownership, continuing together under their own name, operations and marketing structure.
The collaboration responds to changing market conditions, ongoing consolidation and the desire to be even more innovative, sustainable and efficient within the industry.
Joost Barendse, Richard Schenkeveld, Richard Hartensveld, Piet van der Wel John and Joris Harting now form the management of Schenkeveld and Harting Holland.
This is another step in our ambition to be a top player in greenhouse vegetables. Together with our employees and partners, we are set for further optimisation and growth.
